Description

Vulcan Materials, an industry leader in construction materials production,  once again selected CCI as Construction Manager on a new Ready Mix Cement Plant for their Florida Rock Division in Daytona Beach, Florida. This turnkey project, almost identical to the recently completed Labelle plant, involved transforming a 7 acre wooded site into a fully operational Ready mix Batch Plant, complete with underground utilities, Mertz production equipment, a 1000 sq. foot office building, and a pre-fabricated metal warehouse building (outfitted with large, roll-up doors). The office building on site required a stemwall foundation, slab on grade, masonry walls, wood trusses, metal studs, drywall, ceramic tile floors, storefront windows, and a shingle roof. Installation of plant equipment featured 300 lf of material conveyers and loading hoppers, as well as a 10,000 gallon diesel fueling station. This plant sits on 125,000 square feet of poured concrete paving, finished with chain-link fencing, striping, and signage. The site also features retention ponds, landscaping and an irrigation system.  This fast paced project reached final completion 90 days after the construction permit was issued.
