Valmont Newmark is a leading global manufacturer of utility support structures. This Design-Build project consisted of the addition of a new Batch Plant and the decommission and removal of the adjacent, existing plant. Construction included new foundations, aggregate bins, conveyers, hoppers, overhead material storage bins, plant equipment, and full equipment enclosures. Since the existing plant remained operational throughout the project duration, special safety and scheduling considerations had to be made. A 200 lf masonry safety wall was erected prior to construction and some activities, such as traveling buggy and flying bucket installation, occurred during off hours.
The plant equipment came from Haarup Equipment, based in Denmark. Prior to shipment, our president travelled to the plant to personally review and inspect the equipment and aided in the translation of Danish equipment manuals and electrical diagrams to English.
170ft State of the art spinner was added for increased production.
The spinner foundation was nested on Helical piles supported from earths hard pan shell, equipment anchoring with embeds that had less than 1/1000th tolerance was challenging but successful.
Added electrical to support 1000hp 3 Phase drive motor
This project was successfully completed in April 2020.
