This Construction Management project involved the full design, permitting, and construction of a Ready Mix Concrete Plant and a 30,000 square foot Split Face Block Facility and Kiln for our client, Titan Florida, LLC. Construction began with the demolition of an existing trucking distribution center on the 9 acre site. Site and utility work included an underground storm system, complete irrigation system and landscaping, a Type II water system, 5 large runoff ponds, and an onsite fueling station. Refurbished Merts equipment was installed and the new Ready Mix Plant was used to batch concrete for construction of the site. Besser Block Equipment was installed at the Block Facility. Other project elements included a site office with break room, control room, gang bathrooms, and lockers, and a 5,000 SF open canopy for dry storage. Both the Florida Department of Environmental Protection and the Environmental Protection Commission of Hillsborough County held regulatory jurisdiction over parts of the project, requiring close coordination between our team with each agency. Our team was also faced with the challenge of two tropical storms coming through the area during construction. The project was still completed successfully and on time in October 2017.
